Standard: 8a. I know density is mass per unit volume.
Standard: 8b. I know how to calculate the density of substances from measurements of mass and volume.
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This assignment meets the standard because the standard is to know that density is mass per unit volume and also to calculate density to need to divide volume from mass. In this assignment I had to know how to solve for density and also know that density is mass per unit volume. I understand how to solve for density and I also know what the measurement is.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 Science & Engineering Practices you feel you met/gained from completing this project.
One Science & Engineering Practices I feel I gained from completing this assignment is that I learned to calculate the density and I learned the measurements of density for this assignment.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE SEP/or area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this SEP/area benefit future work/projects?
One area of work I could've done better on was to not encounter a source of error. Since I didn't measure the boat when it was a dry with washers in them I couldn't find the exact weight. Improving on not getting a source of error can benefit me in the future in other labs where I will need to get a pretty precise answer.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real-world, outside of the classroom? Make connections between the content and your life
The skills I've obtained from this assignment can apply to the real-world when I'm making houses and I have to add something heavy I need to check the density of the equipment to see if the house can handle the weight of the equipment.
